First performed in 1982, Little Shop of Horrors is musical comedy about a florist who discovered a species of plant that feeds on human blood. Based on the 1960 black comedy The Little Shop of Horrors, the film was adapted for stage by Howard Ashman with songs by Alan Menken and, who took its '60s setting to heart by using rock and roll, doo-wop and Motown styles.
