The exhilarating, exhausting result is a mutant crossbreed of Python, pop, Vegas and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Fans will enjoy the show's nods towards the TV series Monty Python's Flying Circus, whilst a rousing score features such future chart hits as "The Fish Schlapping Song" and "I'm Not Dead Yet". To quote Eric Idle, Spamalot is "as good or quite likely better than any other show with a killer rabbit opening on Broadway this season".
Monty Python's Spamalot opened in January 2005 to a rapturous critical reception, with advanced ticket sales of over $18 million. It received a total of 14 Tony Award nominations, more than any other show that season.
