There are lots of things to do in Akron Ohio, whether you want to see a play, catch a gig by one of the huge acts that stop off there or enjoy one of the city’s sporting events, you’re sure to find something to spark your interest.
Theatrical events are readily available in one of the theatres, such as the quaint, outdoor Porthouse Theatre; watch the Akron Symphony Orchestra, or the Ohio Ballet company at the University of Akron. Numerous musical events are featured at the cities venues, such as the Akron Civic Centre, E.J. Thomas Hall or Firestone Country Club.
The PGA’s Bridgestone Invitational is also held annually at the Firestone Country Club. The Akron Aeros are the city’s minor-league baseball team and play at Canal Park, and the Akron Zips, of the University Basketball League, are also resident in the city. For something different, catch the All-American Soap Box Derby or the Akron Racers – a National Pro Fastpitch team, which plays at Firestone Parkway.
