Christian singer Toby Mac, known as tobyMac is probably best known for his role as lead singer of Christian group dcTalk, but has released four solo albums: Momentum, Re:Mix Momentum, Welcome to Diverse City, and Renovating Diverse City.Born Kevin Michael McKeehan, Toby Mac was nicknamed Toby by his brother because he was born in October.
Mac met Kevin Max and Michael Tait at Liberty University, and in 1987, dcTalk was born. The band combined rock, pop and rap to create a totally new approach religious musci that rocked the Christian charts – their debut album Jesus Freak sold more than two million copies. Although dcTalk has not released an album since 2000, the band says they are still together, although all pursuing solo careers. Toby Mac is arguably the most successful of the three, selling half a million copies of both Momentum and Welcome to Diverse City.
