American R&B singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, dancer, fashion designer, and model Beyoncé Knowles originally rose to fame as the lead singer and creative force behind R&B group Destiny's Child.
Destiny's Child produced four Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles, several top ten hits, and two number-one albums.
In 2003, Knowles released her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love.
The album entered the Billboard 200 at number one selling 317,000 copies in its first week and was certified Platinum just three weeks later.
The album and its number-one singles "Crazy in Love" and "Baby Boy," earned Knowles five Grammy Awards in 2004.
Knowles' second studio album B'Day, released 2006, sold more than 541,000 copies in the U.S. in its first week, immediately reaching the number one spot.
It also earned Knowles her seventh solo Grammy Award (she has won ten in total).
Knowles was nominated for "Best Actress" and "Best Original Song" ("Listen,") at the Golden Globe Awards in 2006, for her part in the film Dreamgirls.
