Delbert McClinton is an admired blues musician boasting a long career.
McClinton's talent has inspired prominent artists over the years, including his harmonica instruction to John Lennon on a UK tour in the 1960s, which was responsible for the prominent tones of "Love Me Do".
He has backed such blues legends as Howlin' Wolf and Sonny Boy Williamson II, and worked in his early career as part of the Ron-Dels, before forming a partnership with Glen Clark in the 1970s. After making two albums with Clark, McClinton went solo.
McClinton's songs have been covered to the tune of much success, for example Emmylou Harris' number one rendition of "Two More Bottles of Wine" and "B Movie Boxcar Blues", which was covered on the first Blues Brothers album.
McClinton was awarded a Grammy in 1991 for his duet "Good Man, Good Woman" with Bonny Rait. A compilation of his live performances "Delbert McClinton Live in 2003" was released by New West Records.
