Mannheim Steamroller are a progressive, genre-encompassing ensemble formed in the 70s by Chip Davis and Jackson Berkey, best known for their popular renditions of Christmas music. Described as a combination of neo-classical, 18th century rock and roll, pop-orchestra and New Age, they have been accompanied on their work by the London Symphony Orchestra and are one of the most requested Christmas music bands of all time.
Over the span of their career, Mannheim Steamroller have released 18 albums, 7 Christmas albums and their Fresh Aire series of 8 albums. They have sold 20 million albums in the US alone – three went multi-platinum, one platinum and 10 gold.
