Edmond Rostand’s classic romance, Cyrano de Bergerac will be revived this fall, it has been revealed
The revival is to be directed by David Leveaux, with translation from the French verse and adaptation by Anthony Burgess, and a casting notice has been put out to find its stars.
Cyrano de Bergerac is a timeless romance, from the original work by Edmond Rostand who based the story, about a love-warrior with a big heart but a big nose to match, on a real man of the same name. It was also the inspiration for Roxanne, the 1987 film starring Steve Martin.
Tony Award winner Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner are currently in negotiations to play the roles of, respectively, Cyrano and Roxane, and it will have a ten-week run will play the Richard Rodgers Theatre, according to The New York Post.
