Led Zeppelin has announced the release of three new titles, all due to be released in November, to add to their already impressive collection of material.
The first release, entitled Mothership, is a two disk ‘best of’ set chosen by the surviving band members from all eight of their studio albums, followed by a reissue of the soundtrack to the 1976 concert film ‘The song remains the same,’ which includes six new tracks, and a new DVD edition of the same film.
The new titles were announced amidst ever increasing rumors of a Led Zeppelin reunion.
It has been reported by several sources that the remaining band members agreed to a memorial gig for their late record boss Ahmet Ertegun, founder of Atlantic Records, where singer Robert Plant guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones would re-group alongside Jason Bonham; the son of late drummer John Bonham.
Massive excitement was caused when a source close to the band also apparently reported that: "during discussions about the concert they all gave the green light to a tour if it all does well and they don't all fall out."
"This is the closest they have ever come to a reunion tour." The source told World Entertainment News Network. "The feeling is that this is going to happen next year."
The band has only performed a handful of concerts since they split in 1980, including Live Aid in 1985.
However, speaking at a press conference for the Rockwave festival in Athens, Greece, Robert Plant insisted the rumors were untrue, joking that; "If there was one (a reunion), then there wouldn't be enough doctors to support it!"
