The six members of the band were originally cast as bandmates on the Mexican TV series Rebelde ('rebel'), coming together as a real band after the huge success of the show.
The group exploded in the Latin scene selling almost ten million CDs in their first two years together.
In 2005 RBD released their second studio album titled Nuestro Amor that turned Platinum only 7 hours after going on sale in Mexico, the group has now sold over 20 million albums worldwide, two million alone in the United States.
