The Police reunion tour, which kicked off on May 28 in Vancouver has already been an overwhelming success with gross ticket sales reaching an unprecedented $107,592,002 after just 38 performances.
The highest gross of the first leg is reported to be the gigs held on July 5-6 at Wrigley Field in Chicago, which drew 79,458 fans and took a whopping $9,494,248.
The figures do not take into account the band’s recent performances at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee in June and Baltimore’s V Festival last weekend.
The British rockers will be back on the road again on August 28 when they head over Stockholm before continuing the European leg of the tour throughout October.
The US won’t miss out though as they will return to play a Halloween sell-out concert at Madison Square Garden in New York.
After a further three weeks the band will travel down to Mexico. Such is their popularity, the Police have been asked to gig in Australia and Japan next spring.
