The Eagles and Dixie Chicks headline event at new Nokia Theatre in L.A.

The Eagles and the Dixie Chicks will play their only U.S. dates of 2007 on October 18 and October 20 to mark the opening of downtown L.A.'s new Nokia Theatre; part of the massive L.A. live entertainment and commerce complex, noted for its state-of-the-art sound and sightlines.

The Eagles are one of Americas best selling groups ever and have established themselves as one of the greatest American rock bands of all time; with four number one albums and five number one singles, including 'Hotel California', 'Desperado', and 'Lyin Eyes.'

The Eagles plan an October release for their first studio album since 1979; entitled Long Road Out of Eden, the band is expected to tour throughout 2008 to support the new collection.

Don Henley has revealed that the title track is "about the war in Iraq and the evolution of man."

Supporting the Eagles are the Dixie Chicks; the highest selling female band in any musical genre, having sold over 30 million albums, 12 million of their debut album, and won 13 Grammy awards.

No strangers to politics, the Dixie Chicks have suffered in the U.S. as a result of singer Natalie Maines' disparaging remark about the Bush regime from the stage on the eve of the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
