Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr were both in attendance at The Mirage theatre in Las Vegas last week to celebrate the first anniversary of Love, the Cirque du Soleil musical about the Fab Four.
Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison, widows of late Beatles John Lennon and George Harrison, were also present for the unveiling of a memorial to their husbands, which consisted of dot-matrix portraits of them.
Jerry Fink of the Las Vegas Sun commented on the show, produced by the company that dominates Las Vegas’ entertainment scene with Mystere, O, Zumanity and Ka: “I’d give Love six stars out of five. It not only retains the blending of energy and artistry of most Cirque productions, it brilliantly captures the unfettered excitement and chaos of Beatlemania in the ‘60s.”
“It's a feast that carries fans through the different Beatles stages - from their childhood in Liverpool through their becoming international rock stars.”
