Following the news that Las Vegas is set to host this year’s MTV Video Music Awards live from The Palms Casino Resort on September 9, several more headling acts have been announced including Timberlake, West, Rihanna and British soulstress Amy Winehouse.
Timbaland, Fall Out Boy, Chris Brown, Lily Allen and the Foo Fighters are also set to perform with special guests live from the Palms Fantasy Suites. Timbaland will also be acting as the compere for the evening’s entertainment with superstar DJ Mark Ronson on the decks.
Timbaland and Timberlake will also be hosting their own Fantasy Suite party.
In a change to the usual format, The VMA party will be holding a weekend-long Vegas extravaganza with several days of performances planned prior to the event, which is to be spread throughout the Palms.
The Palms is the first casino resort in Las Vegas to host the MTV Video Music Awards and plans to showcase the event live from their Pearl Concert Theatre as well as from the hotel suites and the scenic rooftop.
Christina Norman, President of MTV explains: "We're deconstructing every expectation of what an awards show should be to deliver a music experience for our audience unlike anyone else connecting them beyond television."
Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé currently have the most nominations for the 24th annual VMAs with seven a piece followed closely by Kanye West and Rihanna with five and Brit newcomer Amy Winehouse with three.
