Tickets for a behind-the-scenes insight into the Chicago production of the best-selling musical Wicked will soon be available to audiences.
The Behind the Emerald Curtain tours will start on March 6, and comprise of a one-hour exploration of the set and costume areas, concluding with a Q&A session with the current members of the cast. Participants in the tour will visit a special museum which includes costumes, wigs and props from the show and Eugene Lee’s set model. It will also feature a film documenting the making of the hit musical.
Wicked is based on Gregory Maguire’s novel of the same name, which dispels every myth surrounding the Wizard of Oz. The story is told through the lives of the 2 witches – Glinda and Elphaba – who both have a love of sorcery and learn something of each other through their intertwining lives. Eventually, via meetings with the Wizard himself and their varying convictions and choices, they end up on wildly different plains of witchery.
A similar tour is also available for the Broadway production at the Gershwin Theatre.
