Claire Danes will star as Eliza Doolittle, and Mr Higgins will be played by Jefferson Mays in a new revival of Pygmalion.
Later made into the musical My Fair Lady and a film of the same name which starred Audrey Hepburn, Pygmalion originally appeared on Broadway 20 years ago, starring Peter O’Toole and Amanda Plummer as the teacher and his student who he endeavours to turn into a lady.
Pygmalion starts previews September 21 at the American Airlines Theater and opens officially on October 18.
