The multi-Tony Award winning Spring Awakening will embark upon a national tour in the fall of 2008, it has been announced, starting at San Francisco’s Curran Theatre.
Spring Awakening won eight titles at last week’s Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Director, and Best Score.
The new musical version of the classic 1891 play by Frank Wedekind features the original score by Duncan Sheik and Steve Sater, book and lyrics by Sater, music by Sheik and direction by Michael Mayer.
