Established in 1977 as an expansion team, the Seattle Mariners play out of the newly built Safeco Field. Opened in 1999 with seating capacity for more than 46,000 fans, the team’s new home replaced their previous abode the Kingdome.
The Mariners’ history has seen a number of successes, with the team showing increasing strength in the late 1990s and early 21st century. The 1995 season saw the Seattle Mariners win one of three American League titles, with the 2001 also a great success with a record of 116 game wins.
