The Texas Rangers began professional play in 1972 as an expansion team. The team have seen a wide range of top quality players in their history, including names such as Juan Gonzalez, Dean Palmer, Ruster Greer and Will Clark.
The late 1990s saw the team win the West Division on three separate occasions, in addition to a number of close playoff defeats against the Rangers’ chief rivals the New York Yankees.
The Texas Rangers currently play out of the Ameriquest Field in Arlington, with a home seating capacity of more than 49,000 fans. The team moved to their new home from Arlington Stadium in 1994.
