The Pittsburgh Panthers won two national championships in 1928 and 1930 before the introduction of the NCAA and NIT tournaments. The Panthers have a long and distinguished history of success in intercollegiate basketball, having celebrated their 100 year anniversary in the 2005-06 season.
The home arena of Pittsburgh Panthers is the Petersen Events Center, and was opened in 2002. The arena is able to provide seating for more than 12,300 fans, making home matches exciting and vocal events.
