Established in 1946, the Atlanta Hawks have won one Championship, four Conference titles and fourteen Division titles since joining the NBA in 1949. Originally know as the Tri-Cities Blackhawks, the franchise has moved locations three times in its history. Todays team, the Atlanta Hawks, plays in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference.
Having moved cities on a number of occasions, the Atlanta Hawks have also had to change their arena on seven different occasions. They have been based out of the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia since 1999. There, the Hawks enjoy facilities including seating for up to 20,300 fans, dining, suites and a selection of club seats.
Despite their frequent moves the Hawks have enjoyed considerable success and can now boast of six of their members in the Basketball Hall of Fame. They have also retired five numbers in honour of past contributors to the franchise. The Hawks strong backing continues to support the team, with many future successes hoped for by fans over both the coming and future seasons.
