The Golden State Warriors are one of the oldest teams currently playing in the NBA. Originally established as charter members of the Basketball Association of America (BAA) in 1946, and joined the National Basketball Association following its creation in 1949. During their history they have won three Championships, one under the BAA and two under the NBA in 1956 and 1975. They have also achieved six Conference Titles and seven Division titles.
Having moved arenas more than nine times, the Golden State Warriors currently reside in the Oakland Arena. There they enjoy facilities including dining, restaurants, seating for up to 19,500 fans, and premium suites. The Golden State Warriors past arenas include locations in cities such as Philadelphia and San Francisco, where the franchise has previously resided. Having moved from San Francisco in 1971, the team has remained in the Golden State ever since.
The Warriors’ history has seen more than ten of their former members admitted to the Basketball Hall of Fame, and five numbers retired in honour of former contributors. With a long history of accomplishments, Warriors fans are optimistic of continued success into the future.
