The Philadelphia 76ers are based out of the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During their time in NBA, the 76ers have won 3 Championships, 6 Conference Titles and 11 Division Titles.
Their home arena seats more than 21,000 people, and has over 120 suites and 1880 club seats. The arena is host to a variety of refreshment and entertainment areas, supplying the needs of families and individuals both before and after any event.
First established in 1939, today the Philadelphia 76ers play in the Atlantic division of the Eastern Conference of the NBA. They have had nine of their former players and coaches admitted to the Basketball Hall of Fame, with several periods of success throughout their long history. Of particular not is the 1966/67 season, where they achieved a previously unmatchable scorecard of 68-13. With a loyal and supportive fanbase, the Philadelphia 76ers have been able to overcome and fight back against downturns, even when times seemed bleak.
The 76ers were originally called the Nationals, but changed their name following a competition in 1963. The winner, Walt Stahlberg, had a spark of inspiration and named them in connection with the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia, which was signed in 1776.
