The Portland Trail Blazers have retained both their name and location since their establishment in 1970. The Trail Blazers have won a series of awards in that time, making their way to the 1977 Championship, three Conference titles and four Division titles. The Portland Trail Blazers have also reached the play-offs on twenty-six occasions, with one streak seeing them record 21 consecutive play-off places from 1982 to 2003.
The Trail Blazers only move has been between stadiums, when they moved from their original home the Memorial Coliseum to the Rose Garden in 1995. The new home has allowed the Portland Trail Blazers to enjoy facilities including dining, premium suites and seating of up to 19,980. The Trail Blazers’ first award under their new home was a Division title, won in 1999.
The Portland Trail Blazer’s success has also seen five of their former members elevated to the Basketball Hall of Fame. The team has also retired nine numbers in honour of past contributors. In recent history, the Trail Blazers aim to build on their past successes with future triumphs, adding to their Championship win of 1977.
