The San Jose SaberCats began playing in the AFL in 1995, and are one of the league’s most popular sides, drawing in crowds of more than 10,000 at every home game. The SaberCats stadium is the HP Pavilion in San Jose, which they share with the NHL’s San Jose Sharks and Lacrosse side, the San Jose Stealth.
The SaberCats are in the Western Division of the American Conference and took the ArenaBowl in 2002 and 2004 leaving their big rivals, the Arizona Rattlers, as runners up both times.
