Playing in the North Division of the American Football Conference, the Cincinnati Bengals were an expansion team that joined the American Football League in 1968. Following the merger of the AFL with the NFL in 1970, the Cincinnati Bengals have gone on to win more than five Division Championships and two Conference Championships. Having reached two Super Bowls in 1981 and 1988 against strong opposition, the Bengals aim to make their next attempt the one that clinches the trophy.
The Cincinnati Bengals play out of the One Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, and through it enjoy home attendances of up to 65,000. The stadium has seen their most recent Division Championship win in 2005 and was their new home after a move from their previous Riverfront Stadium.
Throughout their history the Cincinnati Bengals have also made over six play-off appearances, with two of their past members elevated to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. They have also retired over five numbers both officially and unofficially in honour of former players. With an impressive playing record, both fans and players of the Cincinnati Bengals are confident of success in the coming seasons.
