The Cleveland Browns have a long and distinguished history. Beginning life as a founding member of the All-America Football Conference, the Browns joined the NFL after the merger between the two competitions in 1950. They have played in the NFL for every season since, with the exception of a three year break from 1996 to 1999. Titles include ten Division Championships and 11 Conference Championships. Despite winning four NFL Championships before the Super Bowl was introduced, the Cleveland Browns have yet to reach a Super Bowl since the event was introduced.
Based out of the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio, the Browns are able to enjoy home seating for up to 73,000 fans. The Browns moved to the stadium from their original home the Cleveland Municipal Stadium in 1999, ending a history going back almost fifty years.
Due to the age and history to the Cleveland Browns, they can post one of the largest rosters of Pro Football Hall of Famers in the NFL. They have had over fourteen past members elevated to the position, and have also retired five numbers in honour of previous contributors to the team.
