Originally established as the Baltimore Colts in 1953, the Colts of today moved to Indianapolis for the 1984 season. With a new stadium scheduled to be opened for the 2008 season, the Colts have made plans to stay for some time. The franchise has won ten division Championships, five Conference Championships and Super Bowl V during its lifetime. The Indianapolis Colts also won three NFL Championships in 1958, 1959 and 1968 before the Super Bowl was introduced.
The Colt’s current stadium the RCA Dome is located in Indianapolis, Indiana, and allows the Colts to enjoy home game attendances of up to 60,000 fans. Their new stadium has seen the franchise clinch five Division Championships in its time.
With the long history of the franchise, the Colts have seen eleven former members elevated to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. They have also retired seven numbers in honour of past contributors. With a strong play-off history over recent seasons, both fans and players of the Colts are eagerly anticipating the possibilities of the coming seasons.
