Established in 1961 as an expansion team for the NFL, the Minnesota Vikings have gone on to win four Conference Championships, sixteen Division Championships and the 1969 NFL Championship. The Minnesota Vikings have not changed their city or name in their entire history, with the only change the move to a new stadium in 1982. The Vikings have also contested the Super Bowl four times.
Based out of the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, the Vikings are able to enjoy a home crowd of up to 63,000 fans. Their stadium is also home to three other sports teams, and is based in downtown Minneapolis.
Over their playing history, the Minnesota Vikings have seen over seven of their former members inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. They have also retired six numbers in honour of former contributors. With more than twenty-three past play-off appearances, many in recent seasons, the fans and players of the Vikings are confident of success in the games ahead.
