The sports teams of Harvard University -America’s oldest educational institution and one of the most famous in the world, are called the Harvard Crimson.
The men’s and women’s ice hockey teams are members of ECAC Hockey League in division 1 of the NCAA, and both have been very successful over the years. The men are 8-time ECAC champions, and the women have won the conference 4 times, most recently in 2006.
The men can also boast 10 regular season titles, and both the men’s and the women’s teams have taken the national titles the men were crowned NCAA champions in 1989 and the women took the AWCHA in 1999 this was before the NCAA women’s frozen four.
Both teams play in Crimson and have the strong support of fellow students and mascot, John Harvard, when they lay their home games at the 2,850 capacity Bright Hockey Center.
