The Yale Bulldogs are the sports teams of the world famous Yale University.
Yale’s men’s ice hockey team play in the ECAC of the NCAA Division I and were regular season champions in 1998. The Yale Bulldogs play their home games at Ingalls Rink where they are often supported by more than 3,000 fans and of course, mascot Handsome Dan.
As well as being a mascot in the traditional sense, there is also a real Handsome Dan bulldog. There have been 16 Handsome Dans the first was in 1889 and is though to have been the first live college mascot in America the current one was chosen in 2005 and is also known as Mugsy because his original name was Magnificent Mugsy Rangoon!
