One of the NHL’s newest teams, the Columbus Blue Jackets was part of the 2000 NHL Expansion Draft. Their home is the 18,000 capacity Nationwide Arena.
The Columbus Blue Jackets played their first regular season game on October 7 2000, with a respectable defeat of 5-3 against the Chicago Blackhawks. Despite them not qualifying for the playoffs, the team’s first season was considered to have gone well all in all. Following years have also seen promising additions and performances from the Jackets, as they are one new team determined to build on their past achievements.
