The Nashville Predators were founded in 1998 and play at the 17,113 capacity Gaylord Entertainment Center. They wear navy blue, silver and gold, and are also known as "the Preds".
The "Preds" won their nickname following the discovery of the 10,000 year-old remains of a sabre-toothed cat in the grounds of Nashvilles AmSouth Center, whilst it was being constructed.
Faring forth impressively, the Nashville Predators made their debut at the playoffs in the 2003/4 season, and in the 2005/6 rounds they set an NHL record by winning their first four games by one goal each.
