Named after the famed W.C. Handy song, the St. Louis Blues were formed in a 1967 NHL expansion, performing well in their first three years and becoming playoff regulars. Consequently their St. Louis Arena was regularly sold-out.
The St Louis Blues always managed to make it to the playoffs between 1980 and 2004, and recent years have seen a partnership with the hugely successful business power Scottrade, which ploughed welcome new investment into the team.
