Club Deportivo Chivas USA, known as Chivas USA, are based in LA, playing their home games in the Home Deport Center, in nearby Carson - a ground they share with rivals Los Angeles Galaxy.
Founded in 2004, the Chivas were created as a USA soccer side for the Latino and Mexican soccer fans who were following the Primera División de México and had very little interest in MLS. The team contains a number of Latin players, and its main language is Spanish, which is shown in the team's inaugural campaign slogan: "Adiós soccer. El futbol está aquí", which means "Goodbye soccer, football is here!"
