Columbus Crew is Columbus Ohio's professional soccer side – the team plays in the Eastern Conference, where it faces some of Major League Soccer's top teams, including MLS Cup winners DC United and Chicago Fire.
The Crew, as the club is often known, was owned by Lamar Hunt, who also owned the Kansas City Chiefs and FC Dallas until his death in 2006 – his son Clark then took over.
The Crew always receive warm home support at Columbus Crew Stadium from the team's three major supporters' groups: Legion 04, the V-Army, and Fort Knox.
Although Columbus Crew picked up the US Open Cup in 2002 and the Supporters' Shield in 2004, the team has never own the MLS Cup, so will be looking to make it all the way this year.
