Altar Boyz is a hit musical comedy which follows a fictitious Christian boyband as it struggles to conquer America.
After debuting at a pancake breakfast in Ohio, Abraham, Luke, Mathew, Mark and Juan are determined to make their "Raise the Praise" tour a success. They've got the songs – an unholy mixture of N'Sync and Nunsense which includes the hilarious "Jesus Called Me on My Cell Phone". But, amidst temptation, secrets and a nice Jewish boy with an identity crisis, can the Altar Boyz keep the faith?
This irresistible show is a tongue-in-cheek look at brotherhood and devotion. Packed with sinfully spectacular dance routines, it promises a side-splitting night out for audiences of any denomination.
Altar Boyz was written by Kevin Del Aguila. It launched in 2005 to critical and commercial success, and won that year's Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical.
