Aida is an opera by Giuseppe Verdi; it tells the story of an Ethiopian princess, captured and brought into slavery in Egypt, where a military commander, Radames, struggles to choose between his love for her and his loyalty to the Pharaoh. Furthermore, he is unrequitedly loved by the Pharaoh's daughter Amneris. Aida and Radames try to flee but are seen by Amneris and captured. They must face whatever fate the court decides for them.
