Cincinnati is the third largest city in Ohio and lies on the Ohio River. IT is home to several sports teams – two major league and a number of minor league sides.
Cincinnati's major league teams are the Cincinnati Reds – the Major League Baseball side. Originally known as the Cincinnati Red Stockings, the Cincinnati Reds were baseball's first openly all-professional team, and were founded in 1866, turning professional in 1869. The Reds play at the Great American Ball Park and have won the World Series an impressive five times – most recently in 1990. Cincinnati's NFL side are the Bengals. The Bengals have made it to the Super Bowl twice, but lost out to the San Francisco 49ers both times – in 1982 and 1989.
