Denver is home to a variety of sports teams, the most famous of which is the Denver Broncos, who play in the NFL. The Broncos are a highly successful team: they have advanced to the Super Bowl six times and won it back to back in 1998 and 1999, and as a result, regularly draw in crowds 70,000 fans.
Denver's Major League Baseball side are the Colorado Rockies. Created in 1993 after Colorado tax payers voted to help fund an MLB team for the city, the Rockies play at Coors Field. The Colorado Avalanche, who relocated from Quebec in 1995, are Denver's NHL side, and they have one 2 Stanley Cups while in Denver – in 1996 and 2001. They play at the Pepsi Center, which is also the home venue of the city's NBA team the Denver Nuggets, and Denver is also renowned for its motorsports – the Grand Prix of Denver is one of the most popular meets on the circuit.
The city also has some great theater, arts and music venues, including the The Jones Theater, Temple Buell and Boettcher Concert Hall, so whether you are a sports fan or a theater junkie, Denver will not disappoint.
