Minneapolis

With the highest per capita theater attendance outside of New York and Chicago, Minneapolis has the third largest theater industry in the states. The popular Hennepin Theater District – consisting of the State, Orpheum and Panatges theatres - was created in the early 1900s after the city bought and renovated rundown theatres and movie houses on Hennepin Avenue, downtown.

The Hennepin Theaters have a broad variety of shows, from the big Broadway hits to low-budget plays and everything in between, and can boast the debut of Google, The Musical.

As well as a healthy arts culture, Minneapolis is also big on sports and is home to four major league sports teams – the MLB's Minnesota Twins, who can boast two World Series wins, in 1987 and 1999, National Football side The Minnesota Vikings and NBA team the Minnesota Timberwolves and NHL side, the Minnesota Wild.

Minneapolis also has some great stadiums showing the latest sports games and big concerts, including the Target Center and the Metrodome - home of the Twins and Vikings and host to some big name concerts, including The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and U2.
